The 10th National Catalysis Academic Conference was held in Chongqing from October 13th to 17th. The conference was hosted by the Catalysis Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society and organized by Chongqing University. The 19th National Catalysis Academic Conference is held every two years, covering the cutting-edge technological development and basic research of catalysis in the fields of chemical engineering, energy, environment, materials, biology, pharmaceuticals, etc. It is the highest academic level national conference in the field of catalysis, with more than 3400 representatives attending the conference. At this meeting, five experts selected by the members of the Catalytic Committee to make a report on the meeting, including academicians of the American Academy of Sciences, Professor A.T. Bell of the University of California, Berkeley, Sichuan University, Professor Chen Yaoqiang, Chief Scientist of Zhongzi Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd., Academician of the CAS Member, President of the University of Science and Technology of China Bao Xinhe, Professor Hu Peijun of East China University of Technology, President of Shanghai Petrochemical Research Institute, and professor level senior engineer Yang Weimin. Professor Chen Yaoqiang gave a report entitled "Research Progress and Application of Automotive Exhaust Purification Catalysts" at the conference, introducing the current development status of automotive exhaust purification catalysts in China. He emphasized the research progress, industrialization achievements, and important role and contribution of Sichuan University and Zhongzi Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. in four major categories of vehicle exhaust purification catalysts, namely gasoline vehicles, diesel vehicles, natural gas vehicles, and motorcycles, in the past 20 years, in purifying PM2.5 and O3 in the atmosphere and winning the battle to defend the blue sky.
