The Second World Internal Combustion Engine Conference was held in Jinan, Shandong from April 21 to 24, 2021. The conference was themed "Green, Efficient, Intelligent, and Reliable" and focused on the goal of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality" to explore the future development of the internal combustion engine industry. The conference is a comprehensive technical exchange event in the internal combustion engine industry initiated by the Chinese Internal Combustion Engine Society, with participation from countries, regions, and organizations around the world. An exhibition of internal combustion engine components will be held concurrently with the conference.

      More than 200 domestic and foreign enterprises, universities, and research institutes, including Weichai Power, Jiefang Power, Guangxi Yuchai, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle, Kunming Yunnei, and other engine manufacturers, participated in the exhibition, showcasing the latest achievements in the industry, including new products for internal combustion engines, diversified new power systems, components, as well as the latest research and development of internal combustion engine testing equipment and technical means.

The conference has set up one main venue and eight sub venues, with the sixth sub venue "Aftertreatment Technology" exclusively sponsored by China Environmental Protection. More than 2000 representatives and scholars from around the world participated in the conference through online and offline channels, focusing on the theme of "green, efficient, intelligent, and reliable", and engaged in a fierce collision of ideas and wisdom on the future development of internal combustion engines. Among the invited companies to attend this event, "Zhongzi Environmental Protection", as the leader unit of the Working Group on Internal Combustion Engine Exhaust Treatment Catalysts (WG15) of the National Internal Combustion Engine Standardization Technical Committee, the executive director unit of the National Engineering Laboratory for Mobile Source Pollution Emission Control Technology, the director unit of the China Internal Combustion Engine Industry Association, and the vice chairman unit of its Exhaust Treatment Professional Committee, has accumulated a large amount of technical research and development foundation and product development experience in the preparation and application of exhaust gas treatment catalysts according to the National VI emission standard. Dr. Feng Xi, on behalf of Zhongzi Company, has made significant contributions to the "Diesel National VI& Special invited report on the development and application of T4 post-treatment catalysts.

        2021 coincides with the beginning of the 14th Five Year Plan, and "doing a good job in carbon peak and carbon neutrality" will become one of the key tasks in 2021. The conference focuses on the future development path of the internal combustion engine industry, jointly promoting the coordinated and innovative development of the entire internal combustion engine industry chain, helping China's internal combustion engine industry achieve carbon peak and carbon neutrality, and opening a new journey for the internal combustion engine industry in the "dual carbon" development process.
