With the determination of China's "dual carbon" target, hydrogen energy has become one of the important energy sources for addressing climate change and establishing a decarbonized society. Vigorously developing the hydrogen energy industry has become an important measure for China's new energy strategic layout in the new era.

On December 27, 2021, the 3rd Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Industry Development Technology Forum and the inaugural meeting of the Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy Industry Special Committee of the China Electronic Energy Conservation Technology Association were successfully held in Nanhai District, Foshan City, officially establishing the Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy Industry Professional Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Special Committee"). The establishment of the special committee aims to promote the innovative development of hydrogen energy and fuel cell technology, improve the construction of relevant standard systems, and attract numerous upstream and downstream units in the industry to join.

Zhongzi Technology, as a representative unit of the members, received the membership certificate on site.

During the meeting, Dr. Zhou Weijiang, Chief Scientist of PEMFC Technology at Zhongzi Technology, presented a conference report titled "Strategies and Methods for Improving the Durability of Platinum based Electrode Catalysts".

The next day, Zhongzi Technology participated in the discussion of two standards, "Evaluation Requirements for Green Factories of Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells" and "General Principles for Carbon Footprint Evaluation of Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell Products", as a participating unit.

The formulation of the "Evaluation Requirements for Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell Green Factories" aims to promote energy conservation, emission reduction, and green development in the material manufacturing process by requiring the infrastructure, management system, energy and resource input, products, emissions, and other aspects of proton exchange membrane fuel cell enterprises' green factories. This will drive related enterprises upstream and downstream of the industry chain to upgrade their green manufacturing and promote green development in the industry.

The formulation of the "General Principles for Carbon Footprint Evaluation of Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell Products" aims to standardize the greenhouse gas emissions and removals of proton exchange membrane fuel cell products, provide a quantitative and evaluation basis for the industry to achieve greenhouse gas emission reduction goals, and promote the comprehensive integration of the fuel cell manufacturing industry with international related industries in carbon accounting.

Joining the Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy Industry Special Committee is an important step in expanding the company's visibility in the field of hydrogen and fuel cells, and further strengthening cooperation with upstream and downstream units in the industry chain. The "Evaluation Requirements for Green Factories of Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells" and "General Principles for Carbon Footprint Evaluation of Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell Products" are the company's first participation in the development of industry related standards in the field of hydrogen energy, laying the foundation for subsequent participation in the development of more higher-level standards; At the same time, the standard of "Evaluation Requirements for Green Factories of Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells" also provides guidance for the construction of green factories for the "Catalyst Industrial Mass Production" sub project of the 13th Five Year National Key R&D Plan project "Synthesis Technology and Batch Preparation of High Performance/Anti Poisoning Vehicle Fuel Cell Catalysts" undertaken by the company. In the future, Zhongzi Technology will work together with its member units to explore the healthy and sustainable development path of the hydrogen energy and fuel cell industry.
